Would the stock tranny be able to take all them ponies?
I pose you another inquiry:
Should I pull out my automatic and put in a 5 speed stick in my truck?
It depends. The key is mapping the boost for a smooth N/A-like build up to redline. The stock tuning on my car is setup to make the most of the little T25, so there is a massive torque rush at around 2k and then it tails off above 3.5k (which, needless to say makes quick downshifts pretty enjoyable). If I put in a bigger turbo and mapped the boost to build slow it would actually be better for the tranny.
And yeah, put in the 5-speed. That would be badass.
