On Galileo, Philosophy
As I revisit the man and his struggles with Philosophers and Theologists alike, I find that it's amazing how big of a deal they made of the simple theory that Earth was not stationary in space and the sun was. I mean, I'd just love to back to the Roman Inquisition in 1633 and give them a DVD PowerPoint presentation outlining Relativity and modern Astronomy. Because, in the end, we're all moving in a thousand different directions, being affected by gravitational forces millions of light years away, and this planet is one of billions. And then, when the pope called me a heretic, I'd pull out my Glock and Cap 'im in the leg, to teach him a lesson. And speed off in my Camaro.
Ah, progress.
Or, should it be a question... progress?
